2011 CAWIC Bursary Recipients

Congratulations to our three 2011 CAWIC Bursary recipients and welcome to CAWIC!

Mary Alexander is a student at U of T in Civil Engineering. At this time she hopes to work in the residential sector in the field, rather than in an office. As well as managing the workload of an engineering student, Mary enjoys coaching gymnastics at the Etobicoke Gymnastics Club.

Candace Harris is a student at George Brown College in the Construction Science and Management program. She is busy preparing herself for success by taking courses in negotiation and becoming LEED Accredited. She supports her program and classmates as a school ambassador, industry liaison volunteer, and by sitting on the Program Review Panel. She is a true leader, volunteering as a crew leader for Habitat for Humanity’s Women Builds.
Momo Sun is a student at U of T in Civil Engineering. She is passionate about construction and hopes to one day manage her own team of engineers. She is interested in reaching out to women in construction and represents her colleagues in many ways, including as a delegate to the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students Congress, vice-chair for Civil Engineering Discipline Club, and representative for Faculty Council.  This summer she had the opportunity to work as an intern with Dawn Tattle at Anchor Shoring.
