PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING
Marketing & Public Relations manages the internal and external communications and marketing of CAWIC. The Director and committee members work to create clear, concise and consistent messages to communicate with members, partners, sponsors, the media, industry and government. It develops communication standards by creating and maintaining a CAWIC brand and distributing relevant information to the appropriate target markets about events, activities, important changes or other newsworthy information.

Communications Committee
Reviews all substantive internal and external communications for consistency in messaging and format.

Newsletter Sub-Committee
Edits and publishes a quarterly newsletter; with articles, information, summaries of events and general information of interested from the Board, CAWIC members and the industry at large.

Social Media Sub-Committee
Responsible to ensure CAWIC is available to its members through appropriate forms of social media, delivering current items of interest to our membership and supporters.

Website Sub-Committee
Ensures that there is a functional and informative web site which is regularly up dated in a timely fashion using a content management system.

SPECIAL EVENTS
The Special Events function area is responsible for the organization and implementation of several key annual events, supporting both internal and external fundraising efforts of CAWIC, such as the CAWIC Bursaries and targeted charitable events and organizations that are consistent with CAWIC's mission.

CAWIC Golf Day Committee
Plans and implements an annual golf day for the purpose of raising funds for the Association and networking; makes all arrangements for the venue, dinner, guest speakers; secures sponsors, prize donations & gifts; and designs & issues invitations. Volunteers assist with gift bag stuffing, prize wrapping, transportation of prizes, registration, venue close-out, and photography.

VIP Gala Committee
Plans and implements an annual (or as required by the board) Gala Dinner events for the purpose of raising funds for the CAWIC Bursary and recognition of individual members or non-members for outstanding participation in and promotion of CAWIC’s mandate.

Holiday Event Committee
Plans an annual festive dinner for members, supporters and sponsors for the purpose of raising funds for the CAWIC bursary and/or local charities and to award the annual bursaries.

PROGRAMS AND OUTREACH
The role of Programs and Outreach is to organize the regular monthly programming events and activities of benefit to our membership and in support of CAWIC’s core values. The committee is charged with planning, developing and managing the connections with and between CAWIC members, local industry, educational institutions and community organizations.

MEMBERSHIP
The role of Membership is to oversee the growth and development of CAWIC’s membership. Charged with developing strategies for recruitment, managing members and potential members' enquiries and representing CAWIC at industry events, this is a vital role to fulfilling CAWIC's mission.

Bursary Committee Awards bursaries to female students enrolled in a construction related field; prepares an information package and application form for distribution to colleges and universities; reviews applications and selects award recipients; arranges presentation of the awards at a general meeting.

Mentorship Committee
Develops and implements mentoring initiatives; provides new and existing members with links to contacts and opportunities in construction; attends job fairs at schools, presents on opportunities for young women in the industry; shares knowledge; provides advice, guidance, information and encouragement to young women on access to careers in construction; encourages all CAWIC members to act as mentors within the Association or outside in the community.

INDUSTRY RELATIONS
The role of Industry Relations is to build and maintain relationships with local and national industry associations; corporate partners and sponsors; as well as government agencies. It is responsible for keeping CAWIC abreast of the latest industry news and research as well as creating partnerships or collaborations where desireable to ensure that CAWIC enjoys a respected leading national voice for women in the Canadian construction industry.
